Thinking of taking a dream cruise or

different to while away those winter
evenings? Why not learn the skills of
navigation.
Kinsale OEC holds one Yachtmaster Theory
course every winter that attracts a
wide diversity of participants. Places
are limited and admission to the course
is strictly on a first come first served
basis.
In addition to learning the science
and practice of navigation the course
includes a fascinating introduction
to the science of weather interpretation

In addition to the above, homework

course and students will be expected
to learn International Regulations for
the prevention of Collisions at Sea
during home study.

VHF (SRC Module
1)
This
course covers both the theory and practical
use of VHF radios.
Duration is 3 nights course work followed
by a Department of the Marine exam,
which leads to VHF licience.
VHF (SRC Module
2)
This
course covers the theory and practical
use of Digital Selective Calling (DSC)
associated withGMDSS, SARTS, Navtext
and EPIRBS.
Duration is 3 nights course work followed
by a Department of the Marine exam.
