Enter the world of sailing. We will teach you the basics of boat control under sail, rigging, knots, launch & recovery, level 1 Certificate issued at end of course.
Sailing Skills
Five day course. Improve your basic skills and techniques and gain confidence to helm your boat in moderate conditions. Learn about tides, weather, good sail trim and sail setting techniques. Level 2 Certificate issued to successful participants.
Improvers Techniques
Five day course. Sharpen your skills and improve your performance. You will learn how to sail a course to best advantage, use of all boats equipment, manoeuvres such as anchoring, reefing, capsize recovery, etc. Level 3 Certificate issued to successful participants.
SAILING KITES AND WIRES:
Enjoy the thrill of sailing fast under spinnaker while trapezing! Course is open to sailors who have already reached improvers level or equivalent. Kites and Wires certificate issued to successful candidates.
Advanced Sailing
Sharpen up all the skills you have learned in the Improvers Course. Learn to sail faster, tune your boat for various conditions and advance your overall sailing knowledge. Advanced Certificate issued to successful candidates.
SAILING ADVENTURE 1
Learn the basics of pilotage and navigation while sailing to various locations around Kinsale. Get to grips with practical weather and tidal knowledge. Course is open to those who haved reached improvers level or equivalent. Adventure 1 Certificate issued to successful candidates.
SAILING ADVENTURE 2
Develop the skills you have learned on the Adventure 1 Course. You will become confident in planning your own sailing trip taking account of safety, tides, weather and navigational options. AAdventure 2 cert issued to successful candidates.
